Testimonials
We are safely back in New Zealand after a wonderful three weeks in Mexico. Thanks again for your interest, enthusiasm and great teaching skills, Alex. We will recommend you to NZ friends visiting Mexico.

Your expertise of the area and your passion for what you do made our trip to San Cristóbal de Las Casas very special. Thanks so much!

I am so thankful I found you ... I like the intimacy of your tours and the respect that you show for the way people live in different villages. Your trips are a learning experience for people of all ages. Sitting with the families you took us to and chatting with them about what they do and how they make their crafts is a super experience. I keep thinking about the little girl's smiling face when I bought her first embroidered blouse. What a trip!

Needless to say I am a big fan of yours! If anybody is looking for an insightful experience and a person that cares about what he is doing, then you are the 'guia' (guide).

... In a day of wonderful experiences the hands-down favourite for me was the 16th century Dominican church in Aguacatenango. We had a chance to go to the top of the church and see the bell, via stone steps worn to a polish by four centuries of bell ringers making this trip up and down several times a day ... Was it worth it? ... hell, yes. The view, the bell, the village below ... how many non-Mayans have been up here? ... not many.

It was great to see you again. We loved your passionate discovery-tour through Mayan culture, culminating in the fascinating visit to Chamula's church. I hope to be around again soon.

Thank you so much for all your help ... it was outstanding, and we WILL return!!

The visits to the indigenous communities and your introductions to the women and their families were what made the entire experience memorable and personal. Everyone in my group of textile artists went home with so much more knowledge and understanding of the lives of the indigenous people of Chiapas.

Alex is an absolute legend. I would not consider going to San Juan Chamula, or anywhere in Chiapas, without taking Alex as the local guide for my group. His knowledge of the area is second to none and his rapport with the local people is incredible; he is welcomed and loved wherever he goes and his warmth is infectious. His tours are interesting as well as entertaining, and travelling in Chiapas with Alex is an experience you will never forget.

Thanks for everything Alex. You're a brilliant guide and a great person.

In 1991 my friend Ann and I traveled from the US to Chiapas and we took a tour with Alex to Chamula and Zinacantán. Was it all we hoped for and lots more? Yes, indeed ... so much so that 10 years later we returned and Alex gave us a tour we'll always remember to Tenejapa,
San Andrés Larráinzar and Amatenango.

Next year we're due for a third visit to Chiapas. Maybe this time we'll take our husbands and introduce them to our favorite part of the world and our favorite guide!

Glad to see Alex you continue to introduce visitors to the wonders of Chiapas.
